What Best Workplaces in Travel taught us about feedback, capability and honest career conversations.
Travel has never been better at looking after its people. Engagement is up, wellbeing is taken seriously, and businesses are listening more than they ever have. Judging this year's Best Workplaces in Travel made that clear.
It also made something else clear, we are very good at doing things for our people. We’re not as good at helping them understand their own future. Businesses could show us what they'd put in place, however most found it much harder to show what actually changed, or who is ready to step up next.
Without this critical step organisations face a problem, the most talented people leave, and the people left behind don’t have the potential or capability to take the business forward in a sustainable profitable way.
